Our FAQ section is here to help. We've compiled answers to common queries to provide you with quick and clear information.
For safety equipment, regular inspections and retests are crucial to ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain their effectiveness. Here's a breakdown based on the type of equipment:
Ladders, Safety Lines, and Guardrails: These should be inspected and retested every 12 months. This annual check ensures that they remain safe to use and comply with current British standards.
Equipment used for Abseiling (e.g., Harness Anchor Points, Eyebolts, Davit Posts): These require more frequent inspections due to the higher risk associated with their use. Inspections and retests should be conducted every 6 months to ensure they meet the necessary safety requirements.
By adhering to these inspection schedules, you can ensure that all safety equipment remains in good condition and is compliant with the latest safety standards.
What are the stansards you test to, making sure my equipment is compliant?

Ladders and Guardrails (BS EN 131) (BS EN 13374):
Inspect annually to verify structural integrity and safety compliance.
Safety Lines (BS EN 795): Perform inspections every 12 months to ensure reliability and safety.
Harness Anchor Points and Eye Bolts (BS EN 7883): These should be inspected every 6 months due to their critical role in fall protection systems.
Regular inspections by a competent person are essential to identify and address any issues promptly, ensuring that all equipment meets safety standards and remains safe for use
