Speaker and Content Policy

Last updated: April 2026

This policy sets out how Victoria Taylor and Mindset + Mastery Ltd approach the responsible delivery of trauma-informed speaking content, and the expectations placed on event organisers who book Victoria to speak.

1. Nature of Speaking Content

Victoria Taylor is a trauma-informed speaker. Her talks draw directly on her lived experience of complex trauma, survival, and rebuilding, alongside her professional training as a CPD Accredited Trauma Specialist and APT Accredited Trauma Informed Practitioner.

Victoria's talks address trauma, survival, identity, resilience, and recovery. Content may include:

  • Personal disclosure of complex trauma and adverse childhood experiences
  • Discussion of the psychological and emotional impact of trauma on identity and behaviour
  • Reference to domestic abuse, coercive control, and the experience of leaving
  • Themes of shame, grief, identity loss, and rebuilding

This content is delivered with intention, professional care, and lived authority. It is not gratuitous. However, it may be emotionally activating for some audience members, particularly those with their own trauma histories.

2. Responsibilities of Event Organisers

By booking Victoria Taylor to speak, the event organiser agrees to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information about the audience, context, and purpose of the event at the time of enquiry
  • Include a content notice in all event communications informing attendees that the content will address trauma and recovery
  • Ensure that appropriate support resources are signposted to attendees before, during, and after the event
  • Have a named welfare lead present at in-person events who is prepared to support any attendee who becomes distressed
  • Not record, livestream, broadcast, or share Victoria's talk without prior written agreement
  • Obtain any necessary permissions for photography or video recording at the event
  • Not misrepresent Victoria's content, credentials, or areas of expertise in event marketing

3. Suggested Content Notice for Attendees

Event organisers are asked to include the following content notice, or equivalent wording, in pre-event communications:

Content notice: This event includes a talk by Victoria Taylor on the topics of trauma, survival, resilience, and recovery. The content draws on personal lived experience and may include references to complex trauma, domestic abuse, and identity rebuilding. If these themes may be difficult for you, please ensure you have support available. Resources will be signposted at the event.

4. Victoria Taylor Is Not a Clinician

Victoria Taylor is a trauma-informed speaker and coach. She is not a therapist, counsellor, or clinical mental health professional. Attendance at a speaking event, workshop, or book event does not constitute entry into a therapeutic relationship.

Where audience members appear to be in distress during or after an event, it is the responsibility of the event organiser's welfare lead to provide immediate support and signpost appropriate services. Victoria Taylor and Mindset + Mastery Ltd cannot take on a clinical support role at events.

5. Welfare Resources

We recommend that event organisers make the following resources available to attendees:

  • Samaritans (24hrs, free): 116 123
  • National Domestic Abuse Helpline (24hrs, free): 0808 2000 247
  • MIND: 0300 123 3393  ·  www.mind.org.uk
  • NHS 111 for urgent non-emergency health concerns

6. Workshops

Where Victoria Taylor delivers a workshop rather than a keynote talk, the same content policy applies. Workshop participants should be informed in advance of the themes that will be covered. Participation in any reflective exercise is always voluntary.
