Living with chronic illness is exhausting enough on its own. Everything we offer is built around one truth: you are the expert of your own experience. Real support starts with being believed, and at Visibly Her, you will be.

Whether you have recently been stepped down from clinical care and are navigating what comes next, or you have been managing your condition for years and are still searching for a space that truly gets it, you belong here.

Our Approach

The VISIBLE™ Framework

Everything we do at Visibly Her is shaped by the VISIBLE™ Framework, a seven-stage approach born from lived experience and developed specifically for women navigating life with chronic illness.

Stephanie Brown, who founded Visibly Her after her own diagnosis in 2006, built this framework from nearly two decades of navigating the health system, rebuilding her identity and learning, slowly, imperfectly and with great determination, what it actually takes to feel whole again. The VISIBLE™ Framework is the map she wishes she had been given.

It is not a programme you move through from start to finish. It is a living journey. You may find yourself in different stages at different times, returning to some more than once and holding others for longer than expected. That is not failure. That is what this journey actually looks like.

You do not need to know the framework to benefit from it. It simply describes what we believe every woman with chronic illness deserves the space to experience.

The Seven Stages of VISIBLE™

V Voice Telling yourself the truth about your experience, and finding the language to name it.
I Identity Discovering who you are beyond your diagnosis. You are not your condition.
S Solidarity Finding your people. The women who understand without you having to explain.
I Insight Learning to trust your body again. Understanding your patterns, your signals, your needs.
B Boundaries Protecting your energy without guilt. Knowing your limits is wisdom, not weakness.
L Liberation Freedom from shame, from the pressure to perform wellness, from the grief you have been carrying alone.
E Elevation Rising into a version of yourself shaped, and not stopped, by your experience.

For Funders and Partners

The gap we address is what comes after.

Visibly Her CIC is a registered Community Interest Company providing peer support and wellbeing services for women with chronic illness across SE London and online across the UK. We prioritise women who are not in employment due to ill health or disability, or who are on low incomes, a population that is consistently underserved by mainstream wellbeing provision.

Healthcare services do important work in the acute and clinical phase of chronic illness. Once a condition is stabilised and clinical support is stepped down, women are frequently left to navigate the longer, harder work of identity reconstruction, energy management, grief and rebuilding connection on their own. Existing funded provision is rarely structured to hold this phase. Visibly Her is.

Our approach is peer-led, trauma-informed and evidence-informed, aligned with recognised outcomes in reducing social isolation, improving self-efficacy and supporting long-term wellbeing.
