Safeguarding Commitment

TRIUMPH RECLAIM is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all participants and operates in line with UK safeguarding standards. Mindset + Mastery Ltd is committed to the safety and wellbeing of all adults who engage with the TRIUMPH RECLAIM programme.

Designated Safeguarding Lead: Victoria Taylor, Programme Director  ·  victoria@triumphreclaim.com  ·  020 8058 4508
Deputy Safeguarding Lead: Stephanie Brown MSc, Programme Director  ·  stephanie@triumphreclaim.com

Scope: Adults at Risk

TRIUMPH RECLAIM works exclusively with adult women who may be adults at risk as defined under the Care Act 2014. This includes women with needs arising from chronic health conditions or disability, women who have experienced trauma including domestic abuse or complex trauma, and women who may be at risk of harm or exploitation. We do not work directly with children though we recognise the intersection between adult and child safeguarding concerns where participants are parents.

Our Safeguarding Commitments

We commit to creating a safe environment for all participants, treating all participants with dignity and care, ensuring all practitioners hold appropriate qualifications including Diploma in Safeguarding Adults and Children (Levels 1 to 4), conducting appropriate checks before any practitioner works with participants, taking all safeguarding concerns seriously and acting promptly, and working collaboratively with commissioners, referral partners, and statutory agencies in the interests of participant safety.

Recognising Safeguarding Concerns

Practitioners should be alert to disclosure of abuse, exploitation, or neglect; physical signs of harm; significant changes in behaviour or mood; expressions of fear or suicidal ideation; evidence of financial exploitation or coercive control; and concerns raised by a third party. Practitioners are not expected to investigate. Their role is to listen, record, and refer.

Responding to a Disclosure or Concern

If a participant discloses abuse or a concern is identified, the practitioner should listen calmly without leading questions, reassure the person, explain that confidentiality may need to be broken to ensure safety, record what was said accurately, and report to the DSL without delay. If there is an immediate risk to life, call 999. Do not wait to consult the DSL.

Confidentiality and Information Sharing

Confidentiality is held seriously but is not absolute. Information may be shared without consent where there is a risk of serious harm, a criminal offence has been or may be committed, a child is at risk, or we are required by law. Where information is shared we do so on a need-to-know basis and record what was shared and why.

Safer Recruitment

All practitioners are subject to enhanced DBS check, verification of qualifications including safeguarding training, professional references, and identity verification before working with participants. Records are held securely by the DSL and reviewed on renewal.

Training and Awareness

All programme directors and practitioners hold a minimum of Diploma in Safeguarding Adults and Children (Levels 1 to 4), complete refresher training at least every three years, and confirm understanding of this policy on commencement and at each annual review.

Record Keeping

All safeguarding concerns, disclosures, and actions are recorded in writing, stored securely with access limited to the DSL and statutory agencies where necessary, and retained for a minimum of seven years. Safeguarding records are kept separately from general programme records.

Policy Review

This policy is reviewed annually by the DSL or sooner if there is a change in legislation or programme delivery. Commissioners and referral partners may request the current version at any time by contacting victoria@triumphreclaim.com.
